Shuttle Endeavour 747 flyover, Venice Beach, CA, Sept 21st, 2012
NOTE: Full-sized photos are untouched, uncompressed, jpg converted from RAW at 100%.
Shuttle Endeavour's first 747-piggyback flyover of Venice Beach at 11:54am, escorted by 2 NASA X-53 AAW aircraft (NASA modified F-18 Hornets).
A decent turnout of enthusiastic types from all walks of life, with a Venice Boardwalk drum circle banging out a rhythm in the background. None of us were expecting it to fly almost straight at us from the Pacific.
Not pictured - a second flyover about 15 minutes later when the airborne convoy returned heading north parallel to the beach.
Shot using the Canon 55-250mm.
